THE MAKEUP SHOW NY 2011: BLOGGERS PREVIEW

Hey Blossoms,

I was blessed and fortunate enough to be able to attend The Makeup Show NY: Bloggers Preview. This is an event that you can attend by invite only! I was so happy and thankful to be awarded such an opportunity. There were so many amazing beauty bloggers in attendance. Many of them I follow already and some were new to me. Creative Director of The Makeup Show and member of The Powder Group, James Vincent took the stage and thanked us all for attending. One of his firs statements was "I received 240 requests from bloggers to attend this preview and I picked the top 80." We all gave a round of applause and my heart swelled. It is because of all of you: your support, following my blog and your readership why I was able to experience that very moment. THANK YOU!

Now I will bring all that I saw, learned, experienced and felt to all of you! We learned of all the amazing new products that were launching and even got a chance to hear some of Mr.Vincent's favorite products which he chose personally to fill the bloggers bag! That bag was huge! So many awesome products!

Mr.Vincent also gave a run down of what the program schedule was for the show. He declared that this Makeup Show was the biggest in it's history with a projected over 6,000 attendees to show over the 2 days. The list of vendors, sponsors, key notes, celebrity makeup artist, industry professionals and guests was mind blowing!

We all left that preview with a sense of pride. Bloggers have been changing the name of the game bringing information to a consumer that is otherwise unknowing. Being the first to go more in-depth on a topic or product more than your local news caster/paper ever could. With the freedom to blog on just about anything and everything the reader gets to live vicariously through that blogger and see the beauty industry through the eyes of another... for you all through the eyes of a freelance makeup artist in NY. Amazing!

Now to all the goodies. The sponsors for the bloggers bag (MUFE is a DIAMOND SPONSOR of The Makeup Show) was plentiful!...

After going through the amazing items in the bag Mr.Vincent introduced Youtube Gurus: EnkoreMakeup and Purzebuzz tot he stage. They both were so sweet and shared with us how happy they were to be at the event and that they were open to discussing anything about blogging. I chatted with them a bit and they were such a help! I really appreciated the advice!

It was really a great event and a huge thank you to all the sponsors who helped fill the bloggers bag I can not WAIT to do reviews!

Did You Know?

Danessa Myricks helped to develop Ruby Kisses and a few other cosmetic brands.

The creator of Senna Cosmetics, Eugenia Weston is known as the "Original Brow Guru".

Sadly, Kevyn Aucoin passed just shortly before the debut of his cosmetic line.

The swatch on my hand of MUFE Aqua Liner lasted over 24 hours on my hand without budging/smudging/wearing off!!!!!

This event took place this past Saturday, May 14th 2011. The first day of the Makeup Show was Sunday May 15th 2012. Stay tuned for a Youtube video showing clips of the bloggers preview and commentary from James Vincent, Micheal DeVillis, Purzebuzz and EnkoreMakeup.

Also this is ONLY the beginning! Stay tuned for The Makeup Show NY :day 1 and Day 2 run downs. They will be broken down into a few separate posts due to the sheer amount of exclusive info. You all do NOT want to miss out!
